Samsung A887 Solstice Review
Samsung has recently released a new model of a mobile phone: A887 Solstice. Samsung’s newest model seems a nice cell phone. Some of the advantages of Samsung A887 Solstice are: low price, a large 3-inch touch screen, 3G support, microSD memory card slot (up to 16 GB), HSDPA, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, WAP browser 2.0 / xHTML, GPS, widgets (e.g. for Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo), music player, accelerometer, a nice classic look.

Samsung A887 Solstice
Samsung A887 Solstice has also got some disadvantages: lack of Wi-Fi, average camera (the matrix with 2-megapixel resolution) without any flash and the average size of embedded memory (189 MB)
Samsung A887 Solstice is in my opinion, quite successful (although not perfect) phone for less demanding users. I must admit that the price of Samsung A887 Solstice is encouraging, but the specification does not go beyond the standards.
Samsung A887 Solstice looks good - it is a simple, elegant, classic. Its advantage is certainly quite large, 3-inch touch screen. Unfortunately, the phone has no regular keyboard, but the virtual one is quite comfortable and precise. Samsung A887 Solstice offers HSDPA connectivity, as well as GPRS and EDGE.
Samsung A887 Solstice is equipped with GPS. For proponents of social networking sites, the phone offers easy access to Facebook or MySpace.
Despite the rather poor parameters, Samsung A887 Solstice is quite functional and pleasant to use.
The price of the new Samsung A887 Solstice cell phone is around 300$.

iPhone 3G S Review – the test
3G S is the third model of Apple's smartphone. There is no revolution, just a whole bunch of improvements. Is the iPhone 3G, thanks to the S, worth their (high) price?

iPhone 3G S
First the iPhone caused a huge excitement. Queues in front of Apple stores were visible a few days before its premiere. It was probably thanks to great marketing - Apple is a master in fostering interest in their products. On the other hand, iPhone has made a lot of freshness to the world of mobile phones. It started the touch screen fashion (available much earlier, but only in cells intended for advanced users). iPhone was the first popular pocket-sized device which offered a convenient opportunity to view the "real" (not mobile) websites.
iPhone 3G S - Test
The letter S in iPhone 3G S stands for "speed". The new iPhone has been equipped with more powerful processor (600 MHz) and twice the memory (256 MB instead of 128 MB). In normal use, iPhone 3G S is not much faster than its predecessor. The difference is especially evident in those tasks which require more CPU power. iPhone 3G S is not only fast in comparison with the 3G model. Its web browser works much better than the equivalent of the HTC Hero.
iPhone 3GS - a new camera
The new iPhone is not just speed. Apple has changed a few other parameters. iPhone 3G S has definitely a better camera. Its advantage is clear – it has a higher resolution (3.2 megapixels instead of 2 megapixels), which along with autofocus, provides quite good photos. 3G S camera can also - finally! - Record video. The quality of recordings is good enough for web applications (the resolution is 640 x 480).
Palm Pixi Review
American company, Palm, has officially unveiled its second (after the model of Palm Pre) smartphone with an WebOS operating system. Palm Pixi is going to hit the American market soon.

Palm Pixi
Pixi is equipped with a 2.6 " touch (multitouch) screen , 2-megapixel digital camera, QWERTY keyboard, GPS, Bluetooth, and full support for 3G standards. Palm Pixi has also the accelerometer, proximity sensor and 8 GB of flash memory. Its size is 55 x 111 x 10.85 mm.
It is worth noticing that Palm has once again chosen a rather unusual release date of a new product - Pixi was presented on the same day in which Apple showed their new products (the company has organized a special musical event for the presentation of the new iPods). Let us remember that the official premiere of Palm Pre took place shortly before the presentation of iPhone 3G.
The recent unofficial information indicated that one of the biggest advantages is the low price of Palm Pixi - it was said that it would be even $ 99. It is already known, however, that it will be higher - the U.S. operator Sprint is soon going to start selling Palm Pixi for $ 149 (with the contract). More information can be found on the Palm Website.
Nokia N52 Review (part 2): Symbian on steroids
The processor (600 MHZ) used in Nokia E52 is one of the fastest among those that are currently installed in the Finnish mobile manufacturer’s cell phones. E52 is better not only than E71 and E63, but it is even faster than the one used in N97. Menu works very smoothly, although there are random decelerations (e.g. when switching from a view of open applications to the standby screen, or after taking a picture).

Nokia E52
Symbian in Nokia E52 is the same system, which we know from previous Nokia’s models. Although, we can find a few new features. One of these is, a mechanism which is an extension to profiles. When switching profiles, we change the appearance of the menu, the "desktop" and email notification settings. There are two modes: business and private. In the latter, we can exclude information about the emails, hide preview of the calendar, and a link to the intranet can be replaced by the shortcut to the music player.
Nokia E52 is equipped with two standard connectors: headphone3.5 mm jack and microUSB. E52, in contrast to many previous models of Nokia can be recharged from the USB port of your computer. Finally! With the mini jack connector, you can easily replace the factory headphones. It is almost a mandatory purchase for anyone who wants to use Nokia E52 as an MP3 player.
Nokia E52 is also equipped with many useful applications. The most interesting of these is Quickoffice, a mobile office suite. The program opens a document in MS Office formats (including. Docx and. Xlsx) and allows to edit them.
Nokia N52 Review
Why change something that works? Because the best is the enemy of good. Such an idea probably inspired the designers of Nokia E52. The key features are unchanged. E52 is, like its predecessor (Nokia E51), a business smartphone with a conventional housing. It still has Symbian operating system, so what's New? First of all, a bigger screen, a built-in GPS receiver, a newer software version and a faster CPU.

Nokia E52
Elegant and simple
E-series smartphones are usually very well made devices. Nokia E52 is no exception. Well made casing with some metal elements looks very nice. Although, the rough battery cover, may not match everyone’s taste.
The keyboard in Nokia E52 is much better – the buttons are bigger, which makes it easier to use. Nokia N52 has 2.4-inch screen (in the E51 - 2 inches), which is appreciated especially by people with weak eyesight.
Camera could be better
3 megapixels, a poor quality led lamp, and unfortunately no autofocus. The camera is Nokia E52’s weakest side. Even with very good light, pictures come out poorly, mainly due to the use of very aggressive noise reduction algorithm, which blurs details. Videos are recorded in a decent VGA resolution (640 x 480), but 15 frames per second would not be enough.

Androidguys.com has published the specifications of A1 smartphone - the first phone that is equipped with Deore operating system Google Android. Acer A1 was supposed to appear on the market in September - but you know that the release date will be postponed.

Acer A1
The latest information about Acer A1 smartphone appeared yesterday - probably by accident - on one of the French electronics distributors’ website. Of course, the site was quickly removed - but the journalists managed to copy of the published information. Thus we know that Acer A1 will be equipped with the latest version of Android (2.0) and the 8250 Qualcomm processor (CPU is clocked at a rate of 768 MHz - and this means that Acer A1 will be the "fastest" available smartphone with Android).
Acer A1 is also equipped with a large (3.5 ") touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Acer A1 will support 3G networks, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi. Acer A1’s retail price will be set about $ 570.

HTC HD2 Review
HTC Corporation introduced HD2, the first smartphone with Windows and HTC Sense - intelligent user interface. HTC HD2 uses a wide, 4.3-inch screen, which should work great for the multimedia applications, and when viewing Web pages.

HTC HD2
HTC HD2, among the first phones with Windows, uses a capacitive touch screen. Thanks to this, with the touch of your fingers, you can easily browse, zoom and change the size of Web pages, view Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and photos. The large screen enables faster, more efficient and accurate typing with on-screen keyboard. With the built-in mobile Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1 GHz, HTC HD2 offers greater performance supporting numerous applications, videos, games, etc.
HTC HD2 is ideal for personalizing your cell. The 4.3-inch screen allows, for example, to display animated weather information using the entire screen, but without interfering with important applications and information. HD2 can be modified in a manner best suited to your needs by collecting one of the many useful applications for Windows Mobile.
HD2 enables fast and convenient contact with people important to you - phone calls, text messages, email alerts and updates on social networking sites such as Facebook. All these functions are available in HD2. HTC HD2 includes a new version of the Twitter called Peep. HTC HD2 also lets you share pictures taken with the built-in camera with the resolution of 5 MP.
