Palm Pre Plus Review

If you think that you got a first gen Palm Pre only to observe helplessly as Palm intrudoced a better Palm Pre phone on Verizon, then stop. The Palm Pre Plus is really the same as the old Palm Pre. Although it is still makes it a good slider with a QWERTY keyboard.

The most visible changes that can be noticed are the lack of the front button, the matted backplate and a bit better keyboard.

To be honest, if you don't like the original Palm Pre, you won't like the Pre, too. Although, if you like the previous Palm Pre and rather don't want to pay more to get Sprint, Palm Pre Plus might be just right for you.

Verizon will also offer the Touchstone back cover for the Palm Pre Plus. This will allow you to use the Palm Pre Plus with the inductive Touchstone charger. Palm also included a mobile hotspot feature, exclusively to the Verizon users, which transofrms the Palm Pre Plus into a MiFi of sorts, sharing the EVDO Rev. This feature will allow for connection with up to 5 WiFi clients.

Palm Pre Plus has more RAM memory, which improves the multifunctionality of the mobile. Although, no one will see any difference when starting one program at the same time.

The Palm Pre Plus costs $150 with a two-year contract on Verizon.

Samsung Highnote Review

Samsung Highnote is yet another new model from the Japanese manufacturer. It appeared in October, for the time being only in the Sprint network. Samsung Highnote is a slider phone, designed - outside of calling - mainly for the music enthusiasts. Samsung Highnote is equipped with high-quality speakers and very intuitive access to music library. These features allow Samsung Highnote to become an interesting alternative to other music phones.

In addition to convenient navigation, Samsung Highnote is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera. This will not satisfy users that expect great quality pictures from the mobiles. Samsung Highnote has a memory card slot which allows it to expand the memory up to 16GB. Samsung Highnote is also equipped with Bluetooth stereo.

Samsung Highnote offers access to a music store in the Sprint network (Sprint Music Store). Samsung Highnote is available in two colors - red and blue. The design and rather poor equippment will probably attract more women than men.

Nokia C5 Review

At the beginning of the year Eldar Murtazin informed us that Nokia would present the first phone from the completely new line: Cseries. Nothing like that happened, and we will have to wait for the presentation of C5, because this is how the smartphone will be called, until the MWC 2010. It does not change the fact, though, that we already know about this model quite a bit.

Eldar was absolutely right about one thing - the first phone from the Cseries is nothing special. This is just a good mid-end model. The biggest disadvantage of Nokia C5, is a very small (only 2.2-inches) QVGA display.

Nokia C5 is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera, which is also not really satisfying when looking at the current standards in mobile phones. Nokia C5 will suport 3G with HSDPA / HSUPA standards. It will also be equipped with the GPS (+A-GPS) module. When it comes to the memory, Nokia C5 will have only 50MB of onboard memory, but it will also be equipped with a microSD card slot (up to 16GB max).

What else? Of course you will find an MP3 player, FM radio with RDS and headphone jack 3.5 mm inside, but that’s a standard in all the new mobile phones. Nokia C5 smartphone will operate under the control of Symbian S60v3 FP2 interface.
