Samsung Galaxy Teos (i5800)

These mobiles are two different versions of the model called i5800 and are named Samsung Galaxy Naos and Samsung Galaxy Teos. As it was already mentioned, the phones have the same specifications and vary only when it comes to casing, which is clearly visible in the picture. Samsung Galaxy Teos and Naos run Android 2.1 with TouchWiz user interface and a 667 MHz processor.

Naos and Teos have quite a big 3.2-inch WQVGA display (230 x 400 pixels) and support WiFi, HSDPA and A-GPS. As for the camera, which is a standard equipment in new mobiles, both phones have one with a 3Mpix matrix resolution.

LG Cookie Gig Km570

A little more than a month ago, LG presented a fresh two mobile phones from the Cookie line, and now, the company presents the next device that has this delicious word in its name. What's interesting, it is prepared for the Bulgarian market.

LG Cookie Gig model is equipped with a 3-inch touch screen with a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels, 4 GB built-in flash memory and if this should not be enough – a MicroSD memory card slot.
The phone will have a nice 5-megapixel camera with video recording function that will allow to shoot films with the 720 x 480 pixels resolution. What is more? The phone should also have an accelerometer.

LG Cookie Gig will support HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and Bluetooth for data transmission. As it is going to be marketed as a music phone it should not lack the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, FM radio and a decent music player.

In Bulgaria, the phone’s name will be different - Surf 4 GB or Cookie Music. Availability and price in other markets has not been confirmed.

Motorola XT720

The specification of XT720 is really impressive. The smartphone is equipped with a 8 megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash and a face recognition feature – this should be more than enough for the mobile phone photography enthusiasts! The quality of the pictures taken even in poor light conditions is really astonishing concerning the fact it was taken with a mobile phone! It is possible to shoot films in the quality of 720p, which can then be viewed on a TV thanks to the built-in mini HDMI port.

Motorola XT720 has a 1390 mAh battery, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.7-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Thanks to such size of the display it is really easy and comfortable to surf on the Internet or watch films on the new Motorola mobile phone.

Nokia X5

Nokia X5 with a QWERTY keyboard and a square slider casing showcased at Nokia Connection is designed for young users. Nokia Music model allows for quick and easy messaging, constant presence in your favorite social networks, the use of games and applications and, of course, listening to music anytime, anywhere.

For the favorite contacts, e-mail and social networking sites you can go directly to the main screen. X5 has a built-in music player, with easy access to your music collection stored on your device and the additional memory card included gives you 2 GB of space. The phone memory can be expanded to 32 GB.

Users will also appreciate the Nokia X5’s entertainment function called "Surprise" - the spin the phone while listening to the music, the device will play a randomly selected track. The sale is going to start in the third quarter of 2010. The estimated price will be 165 euros (without taxes and subsidies).

Nokia X5 has a 5Mpix camera with LED flash. It is supported by Symbian S60 operating system. It offers its customers access to Ovi Music Store and Comes With Music, and social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace).

Samsung I5500 Galaxy 5

Samsung expands its portfolio with the name of the new Galaxy model for the less affluent people - Galaxy 5 (I5500). The phone is equipped with a 2.8-inch TFT touch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Galaxy 5 has only a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash – quite disappointing since you will not take excellent quality photos with it. The phone supports 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and has Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 connectivity, WiFi 802.11b/g, GPS with Assisted-GPS.

As for the multimedia features, the phone has an FM radio with RDS, 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, and of course a music player that supports the most popular file formats. Galaxy 5 has only 170 MB of the internal memory, but it is also equipped with a microSD memory card slot that will allow you to extend it to up to 16GB. As I already mentioned, Samsung I5500 has a Google's Android operating system version 2.1, and the great Touch Wiz 3.0 user interface. The battery (1200 mAh) allows for 387 minutes in talk mode, 3G, or up to 375 hours of standby time.

Samsung Galaxy 5 will be launched in July 2010, but its price is not yet known.

iPhone 4

So… we are one of those proud owners of the new iPhone. Let us start with the basics. The box does not contain many surprises. Yes, as with previous models, it is small, and the SIM card still needs to be dug out by a paper clip.

We think that iPhone 4 is currently the best smartphone on the market. The combination of the improved equipment, great display, improved camera (5.0 megapixels and LED flash) and far-reaching upgrade of the operating system makes the new smartphone by Apple almost perfect. Nevertheless, there are still issues on which they could work, because there are many attractive alternatives to iPhone 4.

That’s right! iPhone 4 has several disadvantages and limitations. First of all, in the U.S. it is only offered in AT&T network, which is heavily overloaded. Our tests showed that the new model can cope with this sometimes better and sometimes worse than its predecessor. Moreover, many users report to have problem with the proximity sensor which is supposed to turn the display off when the phone is close to face. Therefore, it is possible to switch some unwanted functions advertently when making a phone call.

Buyers will not be disappointed, though. The video chat feature called FaceTime is a breakthrough. Thanks to this, not only can the callers hear each other, but also see. It does sound familiar, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, only Apple was able to put it in such an accessible form. FaceTime conversation is as easy as making a regular phone call.

What else is new about the new iPhone? For sure HD video calling ability, high quality display, slim, and thinner design. Apple says the glass elements have been strengthened so that they are 20 times stiffer and 30 times stronger than plastic. To prove this, an Apple employee dropped the phone on the floor. iPhone 4 was not damaged. Inside of the phone we could find the A4 processor (the same as the one used in IPAD). In terms of the wireless connectivity, the iPhone 4 is packed with an 802.11n WiFi module, as well as a quad-band HSUPA chip and of course Bluetooth 2.1. Along with the 3GS, an AGPS chip and compass are also included in that tiny (or rather thin) frame.

The company is facing competition from the wonderful TFT and AMOLED known from many popular mobiles supported by Android, such as HTC Evo 4G.

When we got the phone into our hands we found out that the screen is incredibly clear. Each text extremely readable and it represents images really great. Especially in comparison to the quality of the screen of iPhone 3Gs.

Overall, Apple introduced us to an improved and well-designed new model, which - in our opinion – has taken the lead in the race of smartphones.

Samsung S3370

Samsung S3370 allows users to set up and access their e-mails almost effortlessly, view documents and access the most popular social networking sites (e.g. Facebook). As for the multimedia functions, S3370 offers a music player that supports the most common music extensions (MP3, AMR, AAC, AAC +, e-AAC +, WMA), FM radio with RDS and a 1.3 megapixel digital camera with video recording option. It is not really impressive, but for those who do not seek good quality of pictures taken from their mobiles and use the camera only from time to time, it should be enough .

It also has a MicroSD slot so it is possible to extend the onboard memory (it is only 16mb). The phone supports data transmission in the 3G standard and is now available for sale.

Sony Xperia X8

Sony Ericsson unveils another mobile phone from the XPERIA line of products, this time it is X8. The new model is to fit in a gap between smartphones XPERIA X10 and X10 Mini, and will be equipped with a 3-inch touch screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Samsung XPERIA X8 will have a Qualcomm processor clocked at 600 MHz. This should provide fluent use of any applications compatible with Google's Android operating system version 1.6.

Unfortunately, XPERIA X8 is going to have a 3.15 megapixel camera, which is a standard resolutions for the phones that are not high-end. The phone will have only 128 MB of onboard memory, but users will be able to extend it thanks to the microSD memory card slot (up to 16 GB, 2 GB card included). XPERIA X8 is going to be equipped with a navigation system with A-GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, it will have an FM radio adapter with RDS and accelerometer. X8 XPERIA smartphone will be released in the third quarter of 2010, but its price is not yet known.

Samsung

The new phone from Samsung, causes a lot of problems.It is not because of its appearance or features, but its name. For how to pronounce the name of the phone that says “:)”? Thus, the Korean manufacturer has chosen to call its new phone this way. Samsung will be available exclusively for T-Mobile users.

Anyway, it is worth taking a closer look at the device with such a sophisticated name. Samsung is a mobile phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which is probably its biggest advantage, since, apart from that, it has only a 1.3 megapixel camera, music player and a dedicated button to start instant messaging.

But how do you imagine buying this phone in a store? I’d like Samsung …. (and here is the big smile on your face - )

At the time of writing this news, the thread concerning this issue on the official Apple support forum has already had 22 pages. All the complaints concern the proximity sensor, which is not working properly, and actually it does not always work. Users complain that they have disconnected many times when calling someone. Also when approaching the phone to ear, some of the users enabled the hands-free mode or started other unwanted functions.

One of the users wrote: "When covering the sensor with a finger, it is working correctly, but when I put my mobile next to my face the screen is blinking, as though it could not decide whether to turn off or not. As a result, with 90% of the conversations I click on something inadvertently ".

As you can see, iPhone 4 has many malfunctions and maybe (just maybe) it should not be released so fast?
