Nokia N52 Review

Why change something that works? Because the best is the enemy of good. Such an idea probably inspired the designers of Nokia E52. The key features are unchanged. E52 is, like its predecessor (Nokia E51), a business smartphone with a conventional housing. It still has Symbian operating system, so what's New? First of all, a bigger screen, a built-in GPS receiver, a newer software version and a faster CPU.

Elegant and simple

E-series smartphones are usually very well made devices. Nokia E52 is no exception. Well made casing with some metal elements looks very nice. Although, the rough battery cover, may not match everyone’s taste.

The keyboard in Nokia E52 is much better – the buttons are bigger, which makes it easier to use. Nokia N52 has 2.4-inch screen (in the E51 - 2 inches), which is appreciated especially by people with weak eyesight.

Camera could be better

3 megapixels, a poor quality led lamp, and unfortunately no autofocus. The camera is Nokia E52’s weakest side. Even with very good light, pictures come out poorly, mainly due to the use of very aggressive noise reduction algorithm, which blurs details. Videos are recorded in a decent VGA resolution (640 x 480), but 15 frames per second would not be enough.
