Nokia X2 Review

Last month, we could hear the first information about the new, low-cost model of Nokia, which joins the xSeries of the Finnish cell phone manufacturer. Today, we are happy to introduce you to this model -Nokia X2, because it has been officially presented by the Finnish manufacturer.

Nokia X2

Nokia X2

Nokia X2 is equipped with a 2.2 "QVGA screen, dedicated music keys, two speakers, FM radio, MicroSD card reader and a 3.5mm jack, which are basic functions of  a typical music cell phone. Moreover, Nokia X2 will also support Bluetooth 2.1, Nokia Messaging Service and S40 platform. For people who enjoy Facebook will be happy to hear that the cell will be fully integrated with it. It will be equipped with a 5MP camera (which is, indeed, a bit strange since Nokia X3, which, in accordance with the new names should have slightly better specifications has a 3.2MP camera). Nokia X2 will be available in the Indian market at a price of approximately € 85 excluding taxes and subsidies in June this year. I hope that the model will also appear in Europe and USA, because its specifications are pretty good for that price.

As we informed a few days ago, the Finnish giant, has also presented the first model equipped with the latest version of Symbian - symbian^ 3. The model is from the Nseries and its name is Nokia N8. The model, however, did not make positive impression on the founder of Mobile-review.com.

Nokia N79 Review

Nokia announced the commercialization of the smallest and lightest mobile phone in the popular series of N some time ago. The cell I am talking about is of course the N79 model, which was the first in his class that weighs less than 100g.

Nokia N79

Nokia N79

The design of the phone is very successful - Nokia N79 is very stylish. Nokia N79 is available both in a single color, as well as two-color combinations. Phone dimensions are 110 x 49 x 15mm, the exact weight is 97 g, so it should fit into a pocket in the trousers without any problems.

Nokia N79 has a quite big LCD display (2.4 inch), with a maximum resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors. Today. Like the other N series phones, it also works on Symbian S60, which allows the installation of a multitude of additional applications.

On the back o Nokia N79 there is the camera from the top shelf, with a maximum resolution of 5 megapixel and Carl Zeiss optics. It has a LED flash, autofocus and macro mode. Picture quality is very high. You can also record video with a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 at 30 frames per second (fps). As for the network, the Nokia N79 supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 + UMTS 900 / 2100, provides data transfer via GPRS + EDGE + UMTS (3G) + HSDPA + WiFi. Phone also features GPS module, so you can use it as a full-fledged navigation. Nokia N79 is also equipped with a web browser, FM radio and media player. Nokia N79 supports microSD cards (up to 4GB).

Nokia 5730 Review

Nokia 5730 is a smartphone with full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Although it has a lot in common with the musical line of cells, it also resembles Nokia E75 business (mong other things, high price)

Nokia 5730

Nokia 5730

Like the E75, Nokia 5730 XpressMusic has a screen size of 2.4 "QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a standard 3.5 mm headphone connector (mini-jack). Both models are smartphones that use Symbian.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic, however, is consistent with its name, primarily a music phone. It’s amply demonstrated by the presence of additional buttons to control the music player, which appears - traditionally - on the left side of the screen. Nokia 5730 XpressMusic goes with a memory card with a capacity of 8GB, which can be increased even up to 16GB. Nice addition in Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is also the presence of an FM radio.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic supports UMTS with HSDPA and WLAN. Nokia 5730 XpressMusic also has a built-in Bluetooth and A-GPS receivers. The camera in Nokia 5730 XpressMusic has a 3.2 megapixel matrix with autofocus and LED.

The dimensions of Nokia 5730 XpressMusic are 112 x 51/80 x 15.4 mm and it weighs 135 g. Nokia 5730 is one of three music phones, which were presented by Nokia on 11 March 2009. Other models - 5030 and 5330 are much cheaper.

Nokia 5610 Review

Nokia 5610 is another mobile for those who are looking for a phone that may replace the MP3 player. Nokia 5610 has a special "music" button, 1GB memory, quite a good camera and UMTS support.

Nokia 5610 XpressMusic

Nokia 5610 XpressMusic

Nokia 5610 XpressMusic ranks somewhere between the less-equipped models 5220 and 5310, and 5800 XpressMusic. Definitely, however, it is closer to those first two. The more expensive model has Symbian and a touch screen.
Nokia  5610 is equipped with a small 2.2 inch display. The emphasis was put on music. On the front panel there are located buttons control the playback. These are supported by the original slider, which allows for quick integration of the player and the radio (with RDS). Although the capacity of the accompanying card (1GB) is not shocking, we can expand the memory up to 4GB via a microSD card.

Nokia did not forget about the photography functions. Nokia 5610 XpressMusic has decent camera parameters - 3.2 megapixel matrix, auto focus, dual flash. It can also shoot video at a resolution similar to the DVD (at least so says the manufacturer). Nokia made a good progress when compared with 5220 and 5310

5610 is a mid-range unit, equipped with all technologies, which you would expect in a contemporary cell phone. It supports Bluetooth and UMTS with video calls. It’s a pity that Nokia 5610 XpressMusic has no WiFi, but it has a Web browser (Opera Mini) and office tools (calendar, address book).

Nokia 3710 Fold Review

Nokia 3710 Fold is the next Nokia’s phone of this type. This time, the Finns put the emphasis on the ease of use. Do not forget, however, also about the features - including the quite good camera, GPS and support for 3G networks. And on the top of this, a very reasonable price.

Nokia 3710 Fold

Nokia 3710 Fold

Nokia 3710 Fold at first looks quite inconspicuous, a bit like a slightly improved version of the Nokia 2720 Fold model. But unlike 2720 Fold, Nokia 3710 Fold has not only got a stylish design but also some very useful features. Nokia 3710 fold is the first cell in which the Finns applied a new, easier-to-use menus.

As noticed before, Nokia 3710 Fold has a fairly rich set of features. It is noteworthy primarily for the GPS receiver (namely, A-GPS), a gadget, until recently, reserved for high-end mobile phones. Nokia 3710 Fold is equipped with a 2.2-inch screen (resolution: 320 x 240 pixels), which is a little too small to comfortably use the navigation in the car. Nokia 3710 fold is also equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera and a LED lamp.

Nokia 3710 fold supports the transmission of data over 3G networks and it is equipped with Bluetooth technology. When it comes to the multimedia features we could find here an FM radio, an MP3 player.

The 70 MB of the internal memory in Nokia 3710 Fold can be expanded using the microSD cards (up to 8GB). Nokia 3710 Fold has a built-in micro USB connector which can be used not only to transmit data, but also to recharge the battery.

Nokia 3710 fold’s price is around 140 euros.

Available colors: pink, plum and black.

Nokia 6303 Classic Review

Everyone knows Nokia 6300. Nokia 6303 classic is its new, improved version. Clearly better. I wonder, however, if will achieve the same success as its older brother.

Nokia 6303 classic

Nokia 6303 classic

If looking at the model’s name only, the Nokia 6303 classic should be considered extremely minor update of the successful model, 6300. The same conclusion could be made when looking at Nokia 6303 Classic – it has similar dimensions and proportions as the 6300, it is also made of the same materials. It's just that there are more curvaceous shapes and less straight lines.

However, Nokia changed not only the design. Nokia 6303 Classic also has a slightly larger display (2.2 inches instead of 2 inches), much better camera (not just with a larger matrix (3.2 megapixels), but also thanks to the flash lamp), more powerful battery and a larger memory card included (1GB).

Becoming a standard headphone jack mini-jack 3.5 mm is also present. On the other hand, the Nokia 6303 classic is still primarily a device for calling and sending SMSs. Devoid of advanced features, such as UMTS / HSDPA and a smartphone operating system, but it is elegant, comfortable and easy to use.

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition Review

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition offers the possibility to use navigation in a cell for relatively small money. What's more, along with the Nokia 2710 you get a lifetime license for Nokia Maps. It is a pity that the 2710 has a small display.

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is an affordable phone equipped with all the elements that are necessary to use navigation. It has a built-in GPS receiver, compass, and even an unlimited license for Nokia Maps. In some markets, Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition will be offered in a set containing a car holder and a car charger. The biggest minus of the Nokia 2710 is its relatively small display: only 2.2 inches. It is enough for basic use, but very little, if we want to use the cell as a car navigator. However, Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is especially attractive when it comes to its price. You can buy Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition and enjoy the GPS navigation for a really low price.

The capacity of battery is 1020 mAh – not bad, but could be better. Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is equipped with 128 MB of internal memory and it offers additional Memory card (2 GB microSD card expandable to 16 GB). Unfortunately, Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition has a poor camera - only 2 megapixels, which is simply not enough.

Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition’s price: about $190

Nokia 6700 Slide Review

Nokia 6700 slide reminds me of something. Aluminum cover has a few, flashy colors - like ... iPod nano. Nevertheless, Nokia 6700 slide is quite a serious cell phone: running Symbian and offering 3G support.

Nokia 6700 Slide

Nokia 6700 Slide

Nokia 6700 slide – a slider with 5 megapixel camera

Nokia 6700 slide combines an interesting look with rich possibilities. The aluminum casing slider hides a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics (the photographs are really great). The cell supports the transmission of data over 3G and it is at full HSDPA speed (and not, like the Nokia E63 in the truncated version of UMTS).

As already mentioned, Nokia 6700 slide is a smartphone running Symbian OS. Unfortunately, it lacks a GPS receiver and WiFi. Well, not everything can be - especially for such a low price – expected. This, in addition to appearance, is the strength of the Nokia 6700 slide.

Nokia certainly saved some money thanks to the display. 2.2-inch diagonal is a bit too little as for a modern smartphone. Although small displays have also got some advantages: Nokia 6700 slide is really small and it offers quite decent standby time: 300h and talk time: 4 h.
Additional memory can be installed thanks to the microSD card slot (expandable to 16 GB)
